And with everyone’s life being so full and busy these days, if you find that second to sit down and reconnect, there is absolutely no guarantee that the person you are trying to reach has that moment available to sit and chat in their own busy and hectic schedule. Sure emails and texts can be sent and read at the convenience of both parties involved, but it really just cannot replace the rewarding and fulfilling quality of a in the moment and real time conversation.

The IPad Touch Screen Laptop

Thursday, March 24th, 2011

Everybody was going crazy when Apple released the iPad and touch screen laptop computers these days. Well, you have to know that they have actually released the second generation of their best selling touch screen device. This device is known as the iPad 2. Of course, fans of the original iPad were exalted when it was released. The people from Apple have promised great functionality over their first iPad. If you will read this article you will see exactly which these functionalities are and how much will it cost you to actually buy such a device.

The ones from Apple have said that the new iPad 2 will perform extremely better than their original iPad. One of the things which they have said is that the CPU of their new tablet will be two times faster than the original one! Also, the graphics of the new iPad are supposed to be almost ten times better than the previous one! This is really good news actually! The life of its battery will not be changed. This means that you will be able to use the new iPad for about ten hours without any problems. But the best thing is that the price didn’t change either! You will have to pay $499 for an iPad with Wi-Fi and 16 gigabytes of memory. If you want to get one with 64 gigabytes of memory and with 3G and Wi-Fi then you will probably end up with a price bill of around $829.

The new iPad 2 is really great especially because its prices are the same as the old iPad’s. This shows that Apple have worked to evolve their products for the people and not necessarily for the profits only. I almost forgot to mention that the new iPad will have two cameras, one in the back and one in the front. This is a big change from the original iPad.

The Horrible Error

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011

A lot of people in the office are experiencing the 0x8ac70013 error from their Windows 7 operating system. Since we’re a tech company, we’re all trying to work it out or work around it. We contacted the software company many times already, but it seems that help is best found on the internet. We’ve found tons of forum posts about this error, so we’re glad it’s not just our office that’s experiencing the inconvenience. On the other hand, we’re barely getting any work done around here, since everyone is trying to outdo the other person by fixing the problem. Everyone wants to be the macho man, and it would be kind of nice if we just left it to the true IT guy to do it, but hey, in this company I guess we’re all the tech guys! Now if we can just cooperate and help each other solve the problem instead of arguing with one another, that would be nice.

Most people who are into networking still have one I am sure, I used to. With my line of work I get an overflow of business cards from people I transact with day in and day out. There was a time when I would need to leaf through all the cards just to find one simple number. I finally gave up on this and got hi-tech. I bought the IRIS IrisCard mini Pass-Through Scanner. This handy little device is something that you can plug into your desktop computers or laptop with a USB. Then you can go ahead and scan all your business cards through it. Social Interaction is the Secret to Successful Branded Communities and Games

Wednesday, February 16th, 2011

One of the main reasons virtual worlds, chat rooms, and online games are so appealing to the masses is that they allow users to interact with each other. More branded communities are now finding that providing games that encourage social interaction is an effective marketing strategy. Social Interaction Helps Expand Your User Base

Huzu Tech, a social software and technology company, reported that companies offering branded games that allow players to invite friends to play along are an effective way to promote brands and draw new users to their community. Players also like being able to share their gaming experiences on social networks like Facebook, offering an additional form of brand promotion.

Appealing, socially interactive games, when done right, will keep drawing consumers back to the branded community. When they chat to friends and tell them how much they enjoyed visiting the branded community, word begins to spread and the number of visitors to the site begins to multiply.

Questions You Need to Ask Before Creating a Branded Game

If you are interested in creating a socially interactive branded game within a virtual community, before you go ahead with your plan you need to ask these questions:

  • What will make people want to visit the site and play the game?
  • Who is the target consumer the game needs to attract?
  • Is it easy for players to send invitations to friends?
  • What is the purpose of the virtual world where the game is played?
  • Can players personalize their avatars or characteristics?
  • Are players able to interact with each other in the game itself?
  • What are the rewards for playing?
  • What will make players want to come back repeatedly?

Socially, interactive games within a branded community prove to be valuable marketing tools when created correctly. Should this be a strategy your company should consider?

Finding a Better and Brighter Future Abroad

Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010

I am a college student who has high dreams of going abroad someday. To fulfill that, I took up Hotel and Restaurant Management course so that I can have an easy access abroad. While I am still in college, I managed to look for possible employers just in time when I graduate. Luckily, there was one hotel willing to sponsor for my working visa. My aunt, who works in Canada, has influenced me much on dreaming for this. I can see how her family has succeeded because of her hard earned money from abroad. I wanted to help my siblings fulfill their dreams as well that's why I wanted to earn more than what my own country can offer me. To be prepared, my aunt helped me secure my own insurance here in my country; she chose the best insurance company that can support me anywhere in the world if anything goes wrong with me. Since she was the one busy managing my application, I only have little idea on how it works. When I graduated, I took the opportunity given to me by a hotel in Dubai. I immediately worked on my requirements as well as my insurance. Unfortunately, i forgot my national insurance number that was given to me by my aunt. I needed to file for reconsideration so that I will be able to make use of it abroad.

Where Did the Peripheral Market Come From?

Monday, December 13th, 2010

The games industry is a funny beast. They’re doing very well selling optional controllers and the new motion offering from Microsoft, the 360 Kinect just sold 2.5 million units! Yet, I remember in the 90s how each Christmas I would scrawl ‘Sega Mega CD’ and ‘Mega Drive 32X’ on my Christmas list in the vain hope my parents would relent and give me the console add-ons for my favorite home console, the Sega Mega Drive.

History has taught that my parents were very sensible – the 32X had a whopping 27 games released for it in the UK and I personally can’t stand the one CD game that everyone says is any good on slightly more well supported Mega CD (Sonic CD) – but why is it that Wii, Move and Kinect have met with such success? I guess people just trust the games industry a lot more, 15 years on. There’s no Sega Saturn loitering about to make people fear that support is going to suddenly evaporate either.

Prepaid Mobile Broadband Works Almost Everywhere

Monday, November 22nd, 2010

Unlike prepaid wireless broadband services, pre paid mobile broadband works almost everywhere. If you are able to receive a signal, it will work. In this respect, prepaid mobile broadband is similar to a prepaid cell phone. Instead of paying every month for your service, you pay ahead of time. You do not need to worry about whether or not you will be able to afford your next bill, because everything has already been paid for in advance. In fact, you can now get a prepaid mobile broadband pass via Verizon. The Verizon plan is currently offering a Verizon DayPass, which includes 24 hours of service for the price of $15. The only other thing you would need to buy is a broadband card. Then you simply purchase the pass whenever you need immediate broadband service. This service is very convenient for travelers who already own a laptop computer that is equipped with built-in-mobile broadband.

Why to Use a Laptop Cooling Pad?

Thursday, November 4th, 2010

Today laptops are becoming smaller and smaller because of advantages in the technology and design. It is possible to manufacture smaller parts, and design the motherboard in a manner which will allow all these parts to be connected in a smaller space. The cooling of the laptop becomes a problem with the smaller size of the laptop. And that is why it is a good idea to use a laptop cooling pad which will help with the air circulation inside the computer and outside it.

Since most of the important parts of the laptop are located against the bottom plate, by keeping it cool you can decrease the operating temperature, which will in turn increase the lifespan of the parts and also reduce the times of hang and crash with your operating system.

When you are using resource requiring programs on your computer, it will generate extra heat, which will eventually start to damage the parts of the computer. Since the parts are made of semi-conductive metals, the extra heat will change the way it works and can cause problems. With normal temperatures this is not a problem, but when the machine is used for hours, and kept on the lap where the air ventilation is blocked, a laptop cooling pad is the only way to keep it cool enough.

Professional Video Game Players

Friday, October 22nd, 2010

Imagine the life of someone who actually gets paid to play video games. Some people are paid to play them as testers for video game designers and manufacturers. However, in Seoul, South Korea, gamers are paid to play games for television shows. There is one man, age 24, named Lin Yo-Hwan who plays computer games all day. He makes a six figure income doing it and has scores of fans. The reason is that in South Korea, video games have become spectator sports. The games attract big dollar deals much in the same way that football does in the United States. People wager money on games, they televise them, they sit in bleachers to watch them. Some of the games and gamers even have cheerleaders on the side. It is not uncommon to see some type of person with a microphone standing on the sidelines explaining the plays much in the same way a sports broadcaster does.

Some Things Are More Important Than Others

Friday, September 3rd, 2010

While working with the local computer company, I heard the story that one of their customers decided to go inside his computer one day and rearrange everything “to his liking.” The young man had remove the graphics card because the colors were too bright. He removed the DVD player because the music played too loud. He removed the hard drive because he kept hearing scratching. Then he couldn’t get the thing to do anything and he brought it in to the shop. The clerk was shocked at the mess he saw. There was nothing there except the motherboard and the sound card. The clerk asked the customer why he had left the sound card in the machine. The old man’s reply was, “do I need sound card to make computer work again?” The clerk laughed out loud, startling the poor man. The clerk replied, after settling back down again. He told the old gentleman that he needed everything he had taken out to make the computer work again. The gentleman then understood what the clerk was laughing about and let out a hearty laugh of his own.
