After so many tries at home, I would like to say that I finally got my contact lenses in. It was really hard at first because I was scared to touch my own eyes, but them more I did it, the more I was brave. I got toric contact lenses due to my astigmatism. The eye doctor said that this is the more suitable type for my condition, so I agreed to it. I think that it is so much better than glasses because I can definitely do anything with it! I can do my usual sports, and I can even go swimming. It definitely makes me feel a lot better. When it comes down to it, what really matters is the fact that I can see much better. I love going on roller coasters, but I never get to see anything interesting because people are always telling me to take my glasses off. I think that is the first thing I am going to do with my contacts!

My son has decided to take up tactical gymnastics and I am both amazed and amused and all the moves he’s doing on the mat. I guess it provides a real workout for individuals because my son has developed a six pack on his abs. I feel there is a great deal of denial in the school systems regarding alcoholism and teenagers. If you read the definition of alcoholism put out by the NCADD, alcoholism doesn’t discriminate. In other words, it doesn’t matter whether you’re rich, poor, young or old. Alcoholism can happen to any body at any time, and there our plenty of teenage alcoholics that aren’t getting the help they need.

My son is 15 years old and has told me plenty of stories that involve alcohol and teenage drinking. He has also told me that there are some kids that will drink during school hours. It seems that there is a lot more focus on drugs than on alcohol. I feel we are doing our children a disservice by not providing them more information on alcoholism. More importantly, we need to educate the parents and teachers as well. We need to become more responsible for our children.
