A second thing you can do is to do as the Europeans. Europeans open their windows and shades in the early morning and evening. And then they draw them in when the sun starts to heat up in late morning. Closing your curtains at this time traps the cool air and prevents the hot air from coming in. Heavier fabrics in darker hues work better than lighter fabrics in doing this.

Another things you can try is to use all the available sources for ventilation. Use a fan and the air conditioner simultaneously. This will give the cool maximum coolness. And you may need this to combat the days that are extremely humid.

To make it easier for your cooling machines, eliminate heat sources from the room. Turn off the lights and the computers.
